At Probus Surgery the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We run many clinics for those suffering with chronic diseases and offer a wide variety of other medical services. Please see Clinics & Services for more information.
In addition to our main site at Probus, we also have 4 branch sites in Grampound, Tregony (Roseland Parc Nursing Home), Hewaswater (The Merlin Centre) and Summercourt (Village Hall). Most sites have disabled access and facilities which help maintain ease of access for patients with limited mobility. For the visually impaired, we can provide copies of practice information in larger text upon request.

Improving Access to General Practice
We are participating in a national incentive to offer evening and weekend appointments to make it easier for you to see a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional at a time more convenient to you between 6.30pm – 8pm Monday to Friday and at the various hours at the weekend. The aim of the national scheme is to help people who may find it difficult to see a healthcare professional during the traditional surgery opening hours of 8.30am-6.30pm Monday to Friday.
We are working in partnership across the local area and appointments are available at several locations across Cornwall where you may not see a clinician from this practice. The clinician will have access to a summary but not your full notes so appointments are better suited to new conditions or single issue enquiries. The practice will receive a full summary of your consultation and any actions resulting from it the next morning.
Once the benefits of this service have been assessed it may result in longer opening hours being available on a more permanent basis.

You may have received a letter in the post from Pharamcy2U indicating it has been sent to you on behalf of the NHS, this is not the case. Pharmacy2U is a distance selling company that can provide a repeat prescription service. However, the surgery does not participate in the Electronic Prescribing Service.

If you need to visit the emergency department, a minor injury unit or urgent care centre, you can see how long you may have to wait by using the online waiting time service, which shows the longest wait, how many people are waiting to be seen and how many people are in the department. It also includes opening times and x-ray availability.

NHS Choices replaced by nhs.uk
The NHS Choices website has been renamed nhs.uk and a number of improvements have been made. The information on www.nhs.uk has been made easier to read so people can use it to better manage their health and care. The design has also been improved for use on mobile devices to give people quick access to a range of services and practical health information. The website address remains the same, but youll no longer see the NHS Choices logo on the website. It will simply retain the trusted NHS brand.

Named Accountable GP for All Patients
Every patient has now been allocated a named GP who is responsible for your overall care at the practice. If you would like to know who your named GP is, please contact reception and they will be happy to inform you.
If you wish to change the name of your accountable GP, please let us know and we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate this request.
Having a named accountable GP does not restrict your entitlement to see any doctor in the practice.
Repeat Prescriptions (either online or paper):
We would kindly ask if...
* You could allow a minimum of 3 full working days (not including weekends) for us to process your prescriptions.
* You can order up to 10 days in advance.
Please Note: If you do not collect your prescription within 4 weeks it will be removed from the shelf.
If you would like to order your medication through The Waiting-room online service, you will need to attend the practice in person, bring some form of identification with you and complete the relevant registration form.
