Dr Keith Round (m)

Dr Round trained in Edinburgh, graduating in 1973. He soon became a GP in 1976, moved to Cornwall and joined the Probus partnership in 1978 as a full-time partner. He specifically undertook training in Family Therapy in 1987 and also takes a keen clinical interest in psychiatry, paediatrics, general medicine and therapeutics. His clinical work, together with the administrative aspects of running the practice, do leave a little time for outside interests which include walking (he rambles a lot!) and horology.
Dr Round is available to see patients on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr John Tisdale (m)

[1977] MBChB
Dr Tisdale trained in Liverpool in the 1970s, graduating in 1977. Having moved to Cornwall he joined the partnership at Probus in 1981 as a full-time GP. His interest in minor surgery grew and he became very experienced in a variety of procedures and specifically vasectomies. The clear benefits of undertaking such low-risk procedures at the GP surgery drove him to undertake more and more and since 1994 he has gradually reduced his GP commitment to zero and is now working entirely as a primary care surgeon at the practice. With his surgical colleagues, Dr Tisdale now performs a wide variety of procedures including hernias and hand surgery at Probus Surgical Centre which is co-located with the Probus GP Surgery. He is a member of the American Hernia Society and an Honorary Fellow of Exeter University. When he is not operating John likes to swap his surgical gloves for wellies and waterproofs, being a keen sea fisherman (though you will never discover where as his fishing spots are closely guarded secrets!).
Dr Tisdale routinely consults and operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Dr Vicki Bridger (f)

[1982] MBBS  DCH  DRCOG
Dr Bridger trained and graduated at St Thomas' Hospital, London. Having undertaken a trainee year at Penryn Surgery, she joined the Probus partnership in 1988. Her special interests include women's health, thyroid disease and family planning. With three sons, several ducks and chickens and a vegetable patch to tend, she is kept busy in her spare time but does manage to fit in some swimming, sailing and cycling as well!
Dr Bridger is available to see patients Mondays and Thursdays.

Dr Howard Ball (m)

Born and educated in Zimbabwe, Dr Ball studied medicine in Cape Town working locally following qualification. On arriving in Cornwall he joined the vocational training scheme for GPs in 1988 and became a part-time partner at Probus in 1992. He combined this with part-time work as a hospital assistant in Child Psychiatry for 4 years before becoming a full-time GP. Dr Ball's clinical interests include asthma, respiratory disease and psychiatry. He is also involved in the training of undergraduates and registrars. Dr Ball was fully accredited as GP trainer in January 2008. When not at work he enjoys time with his wife and three children, cycling and kayaking.
