     Being referred?

If your GP is referring you to see a Specialist it is important that we have up to date contact details. You can do this by submitting this via the website, or coming into the Surgery to fill out a form.  Please note it is also a requirement to have your height, weight and blood pressure.

If you wish to have support for stopping smoking, healthy weight for children and adults, healthy pregnancy or physical activity please call 01209 615600 or visit:

To access a GP we have a Telephone Triage system, which means that your initial appointment will be booked in for a telephone call back with the GP, and this allows the clinically trained staff at the Surgery to assess health concerns over the phone and manage them in a safe and timely manner. If the clinician feels they need to see you, they will book this appointment for you and can also offer you a video consultation.

Please ring Probus  Surgery to arrange an appointment on 01726 882745

You can now book appointments online. To enable you to book these appointments please download the NHS App or visit Probus Surgery and complete an application form providing us with a unique email address, bringing with you some form of identification. We will then set you up to access the system.

These slots are for ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS only. If you feel you will require longer than 15 minutes please phone the surgery on 01726 882745.

Calendar and penWe are able to book some appointments up to one month in advance and some can only be booked on the day. If you know you need a routine review appointment, please book this in good time - or even before leaving the surgery after your previous appointment. This helps ensure we can offer various day and time options.

We aim to offer everyone an appointment at a time that suits them, and constantly re-evaluate our patients' needs. However, Mondays are always very busy, so we would ask you to bear this in mind when you ring.

It is also important to let us know in good time if you no longer require an appointment, so that this slot can be offered to another patient.

The Receptionist team at Probus Surgery can answer in the region of 330 calls a day, the majority of which are patients wishing to make an appointment to see a GP.  Please do not be alarmed if the Receptionist asks the reason for your attendance as this information allows the Receptionist to allocate the most appropriate resource to suit your need.

Improving Access to General Practice

NEW SERVICE: See a GP by video with Livi. Even at the weekend.

Patients of Probus Surgery can now see an NHS GP by video using Livi. Get medical advice, prescriptions and referrals on the same day – both on weekdays, out of hours between 18.30pm - 22.00pm,  and at weekends between 8.00am - 16.00pm.  The service is provided free on the NHS.

You can download the Livi app to your mobile phone or tablet, from the App Store or Google Play. Or visit for more information.

Livi GPs are all GMC-registered NHS GPS, who (with your consent) will be able to access your medical records and give you a considered, in-depth diagnosis based on your medical history.

Get the Livi  app here:

To be able to access the Livi App Service patients will need to give permission to share their medical record with Third Parties. This is different than data sharing with NHS Digital. You may be asked for consent when you call the Reception team.
